The Rustlers cross-country running team was in Calgary this past weekend for the Running Room Grand Prix #4 hosted by SAIT. The team hit the course of the provincial championship that will be hosted later in October.
The Rustlers had six runners participating in the races for the day; three women participating in a 6Km run and three men participating in an 8km run.
The results for the Rustlers in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) were as follows: Nikki Ylioja 26th place, Katherine Oeggerli 27th place, Nikita Lattery 38th place, Greg Bendick 26th place, Joshua Lang 32nd place, and Clayton Swann 34th place.
Head coach Karl Meissner was impressed with the team's performance on the weekend though the weather did not cooperate, "it was a challenging course that with the snow and cold, made it an even tougher day for everyone."
He was very proud of the team and the way they ran, he also added: "it was great to see the provincials course, and we can set up our training to perform well at provincials in 4 weeks."
The Cross-Country Running Championship will be hosted by SAIT in Calgary on Saturday, October 26th with races beginning at 12 pm.
